Mercury Construction has recently completed the conversion of a gymnasium at Teignmouth Community School.

Brief description

Mercury Construction completed the conversion of a gymnasium at Teignmouth Community School into a new Sixth Form study centre and exam hall.

The works included the construction of a first floor into the existing gym hall to provide an upstairs Exam Hall with acoustic separation from the rest of the building.

On the ground floor, a new common area and kitchen were created, along with a large open-plan study area. There are also new offices, toilets and meeting space.

This project was a finalist for The Best Educational Building in the LABC Building Excellence Awards.
